Uni Release RU

Uni Release RU helps to prevent cement paste sticking to the mould surface, which in turn enables air to escape from the face when the concrete is poured and vibrated. The number of blowholes is kept to an absolute minimum and the cleaning of the mould surface is made much easier. The chemical reaction between the cement and the Uni Release RU repels water at the interface of the mould and concrete, leaving a uniform colour and surface. Uni Release RU is specially formulated blend of mineral oils and chemicals having release properties which are superior to those of conventional mould oil. It works as a chemical release agent, which once applied, reacts with the water in the concrete, forming a waterrepellent layer. This allows for easy stripping of moulds and formwork, and will leave fair-faced stain-free surfaces

Instruction for Uni Release RU Use

Solvent based ready to use chemical form release agent

Preparation of New Moulds

No preparation is necessary but if extensive re-use of Timber moulds is envisaged, it is advisable to protect all new surfaces with Uni Release RU. For used moulds, all traces of cement must be removed together with any surface deposits of previous oils.

Coating

Uni Release RU can be applied by brush, sponge or conventional mould oil-sprayer. If an oil-sprayer is used, care should be taken to choose correct size of sprayer. Apply one thin and even coat of Uni Release RU over the entire surface. Even a thin coat is enough to achieve effective coverage. Excess application is uneconomical and may lead to surface dusting. Wire or brush off any excess particles on the surface and apply one coat of Uni Release RU as before. To remove Uni Release RU completely, for recoating mould or shutter surface, use strong industrial detergent together with stiff brushing & then thoroughly rinse with clean water.

Cleaning

Cleanup … Prior to drying, equipment may be easily cleaned with soap and water. Once dried, use mineral spirits or other suitable petroleum solvent.
